Jesz at twenty

We have been celebrating Jessilyn’s birthday for three years now and really, summer isn’t complete without her birthday bash. I don’t know why but her celebration is always epic. So many surprises – be it good or bad. But I love how in the end, it’s the friendship and precious moments that count.

And her 20th birthday celeb was no different! There was actually a pool but we decided not to swim because we were lazy to bring clothes. I regret being lazy though. Or baka ayoko lang talaga mag-swim kasi my body isn’t for show off lately, given the flabs I have been taking care of. Eeeew, I know. Baka kung nag-swim kami mag-alisan yung other visitors ni Jesz sa takot sa mga taba ko. No chos. So yeah, bawing-bawi naman kahit we didn’t get to swim since being with these people simply makes me a happy bee. Wild and crazy night indeed! And I don’t really understand why I kept on saying that for it isn’t supposed to be said… Basta. Can’t explain. Hahaha.

I know this photo is dark but I just love its natural effect. :D

I was covering my eyes because the flash was making me really dizzy… -_- Kadiri ng big arms ko please.

Bakit waley photo si Pocholo? Oh well! It’s funny how those were the only photos. I guess we were all enjoying the night that we didn’t have time to capture what was happening. It isn’t so ideal to blog about other stuff that took place anyway. HAHAHA CHOS. Daldal ko na naman. Tsk!

Good company, good music, good times. Happy birthday again, honey! We love you and here’s to forever! ♥

AND I SERIOUSLY NEED TO DIET. IT’S ABOUT TIME I STARVE MYSELF. Waley lang, just wanna let it out. :p

PS. I know I look so ugly in all the photos. Few na nga lang, ang fail pa ng face ko… :|

Friday the 13th

I honestly thought Friday the 13th would gather all the bad vibes in the world since my morning did not start in a good way. Turns out, it showered me so much good vibes later that day!

We left the office real early because our mentor let us go right after he got our articles and assigned us new tasks and oh, can I just say that our dear mentor is so nice, cool, funny, name it! I think I’d love working with him so so sooo much. :D Anyway… We spent some time playing around Greenbelt. And by playing, I actually meant PLAYING. Hehehe.

Kids at heart! Chos.

We passed by Timezone and this crazy girl Ate Kat dared me to randomly cheer for some kids playing that ball stuff inside. Being the makapal muka girl that I am, I immediately accepted the challenge. HA-HA-HA!!

Omg this is so funny! Look at the little boy – he was really staring at me prolly because he was horrified. :p

I actually got some balls and played like I was truly part of the game! To think those little boys were total strangers… God I’m so weird! I like being weird though hahaha

Ate Kat has a video. I am posting it as soon as I get it! :p By the way, we stayed at her place afterwards. Yup, we love hanging out at her crib just because. We didn’t take that much photos maybe because we were so busy having fun.

On the way to San Juan. Ate Kat said I look like Cory Aquino with Max’s glasses on… I know, she has out of this world opinions. Hahaha! And hey, just please don’t mind how flat my nose is. -_- (Oops? Did I just mention it?)

Look at the yummies we had that day:

To die for!!!!

In the evening, I went to my parents’ office. I love staying there, too, all because the people are so nice. Then I rewarded myself with Chatime and made my tummy even happier with Banchetto before heading home. I told you I love food. :D

Friday the 13th very well spent!

Our dearest Thomas

The little kiddo rocked our home last Easter Sunday and god, seeing him was beyond awesome. I was really surprised since my aunt did not inform me that they would come and visit so I guess everything was a mere ‘surprise.’ Hee hee!

I can’t believe how the little boy is growing too fast. He walks around like a supervisor and it’s crazy how he loves to go under the dining table, behind doors, in narrow places, and other weird parts of the house! It’s so cute how he laughs at us on a random basis, plus he already has too many kalakohans! I swear he is so full of energy.

Adorable kid!!!!!!!

Making the most out of Baby Thomas. Hehehe chos!

Gosh I wish they just live with us, that would be way better. I love having cute babies at home!

And now I suddenly miss the baby boy…

Visita Iglesia 2012

It has been the family’s tradition to visit fourteen churches for Visita Iglesia every Maundy Thursday. We would go around Manila and pray at chosen churches, give praises to the Lord, ask for forgiveness and guidance, or ask for more blessings. Quite honestly, doing this practice is one of the things that excites me during Holy Week. I have this belief that my prayers are stronger when I go to churches, all the more when I visit a church for the first time. Crazy, I know.

For this year, we went to Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu Parish Church, San Roque Church, Monasterio de Santa Clara, Christ the King Parish Church, St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Malate Church, Ermita Shrine, Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church, San Sebastian Church, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, St. Paul the Apostle Parish Church, Christ the King Church along E. Rodriquez Sr. Ave., and Sacred Heart Parish. Among all those fourteen, Manila Cathedral is my favorite. Actually, that historical church is in our list every year. Anyway, I took so many photos during the whole trip (I think nearly a hundred) because the thought of me being present in many different churches in just one day makes me really enthusiastic. Not all photos are pretty, though. And of course I’m not posting everything for that would be absolutely wild!

This place has heard almost all my prayers. Yup, I am a devotee and several times I have prayed (and offered eggs) in Sta. Clara because I was that desperate to get what I want. :p

It always amazes me how this huge dog never leaves that place and doesn’t hurt anyone passing by. I think it is the monasterio’s bantay. Awesome!

Alec was portraying that sad face because he wanted some cotton candy. Hahaha. And by the way, why do you have to wear those white socks? Frankly, it sucks. I hate boys wearing white socks as part of their ‘porma.’ Personally, it’s just so annoying. -_-

There you go, he already got his cotton candy. What a spoiled brat! :p

I love St. Francis of Assisi Parish! There are Sundays we would go all the way to Mandaluyong City just to hear mass. The church is just so peaceful and the mass there is just so solemn.

In the middle of Visita Iglesia-ing, we felt intense hunger. As in we were all so pale and my mom even got dizzy. So after visiting the fifth church, we had dinner. It took a while before we finally decided where to eat, though.

Yuhz! Shakey’s it is!

I look so stressed and I really am fat. I guess I gotta start working on it…

After charging up, we continued visiting nine more churches. This time, with more energy. Yay!

My favorite church! The very beautiful Manila Cathedral. :)

Gotcha! Look at those weird faces HAHAHA

Found these at Sacred Heart Parish. I suppose this was for Good Friday’s procession.

So that wraps up our Visita Iglesia 2012. Others say Holy Week is too mainstream. I can’t be against them because that’s their own opinion, that’s how they see it. It may be mainstream, but it may also bring out the soft side in us. It is really a time wherein we can all reflect, I mean everybody. Holy Week is my time for deep reflection. I may be as bad as fuck but that doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to dedicate this week, or at least this day, to my Lord, so do other [bad] people out there. You see, people change. And it’s not as if they can’t change for the better. I guess all this world needs is time, only a perfect time. Just saying.

Flying ipis

There was a cockroach in the room and it flew and crawled at the back of a certain table. I wasn’t able to catch and kill it, and now I couldn’t see it anymore. But I know it is still just around the corner. Whenever I hear noise, I feel like it will attack me anytime. I couldn’t really concentrate on what I’m doing.

Just like in life. That’s the problem when you’re not aware of what exactly is going on. And the only thing that will make you feel at peace is when you’ve already killed the cockroach, or at least know where it is.
